May 22 Journal

Since the beginning of time life has always strived for perfection. Error is just how life corrects its self, from learing to evolving.

Maybe that's the meaning of life, to strive for perfection. Maybe some day we'll reach it and assend unto another world and or gain a new purpose.

I believe the question that should have been asked is why do some people not want perfection, or maybe wants it but doesn't try hard enough for it? Why are we scared of error? Why do we naturally love procrastination?

Maybe its a flaw within its self.

PROJECT IN PROCESS

Well in this pose were suppose to be talking about what we did in class today but i would like to bring something up first. Feeling like that wasn't enough i go to take a look at my fellow classmates blogs. An to my shock i see many blogs having the same problem I am.

Laziness is a bug that needs to be nipped in the bud.

JOHNNY CYBERPUNK

After Reading this story (from what i could understand of it) I really enjoyed it. I would have to say that CyberPunk is now a new favorite of mine. The way things are portrayed in the story it sounds amazing, The ways people change them selves is crazy but I guess man kinds real flaw is the strive for perfection

Gatsby Essay

Nick Carraway In the Novel "The Great Gatsby" is kinda of the man with all the connections, a messenger is you will. Hes the yeast to the bread. Without him how would it rise?

Nick plays a man who just moved into the Newegg neighborhood and made friends with a rather sketchy, money mouthed man. Many could argue that this is a good or bad for Nick in the long run but for those that have no opinion and see that what is done is done get to admire the unraveling adventures of thees two, That consist of Gatsby's goal of getting closer to his one and only love. An winning her over forever.

This is kind of random but the story reminds me of this song.

Journal Post: March 22

Eminem once said, "Rap is my drug."  What did he mean?  How was his experience with rap similar to or different from Bernard's experience with Soma in Brave New World?

When Eminem said "Rap is my drug." What he meant was no matter how good It felt when he rapped it always left an emptiness in him that only seems to grow I think this relates to Bernard's experience.

Jounal Post: March 19

 JOURNAL TOPIC:
Describe what you want and need out of today's Socratic seminar in order to succeed on the Modernist Author Project hack (due next Monday, March 25).

I would like to have gone over Ideas for possible hacks and to talk more about each others projects an possesses so I could get a feel of what I'm doing exactly. My mind seems to work better when I see things done not told how to do them. Ever heard of the term "Seeing is believing"?  Well its kinda like that. I just tent to think better in action and not words, It helps me keep from being lazy and in the way.

(From now on I will be posting my Journals on my blog to help me stay on task.)

MAPLAN

I was planning on doing like a Short timeline about Knut Hamsun's life and talk about how he grew up. After all that's what his book "Hunger" Is about. His own impoverished life as a young man that with fail, tries to keep a public respectability and repeatedly trying to get a job in his starving poverty.

I'm still in prosses of reading the book so it may take time to make this timeline.
I know this is kind of the stereotypical "school kid" assignment and Dr. Preston would like us to "Hack it" as we put it but im having trouble thinking of idea.
I'm always ears open for suggestions

I'm Here.

(Runnin out of steam here, gotta get this done)
This semester i actual feel half and half... There are some classes i feel I'm doing great and some i feel super behind in and struggling to catch up.
Its all going by so fast I worry I'm not going to get it all done.
In my Dr Preston class i feel in barely hanging onto a string, No. Actually a rope and the only thing that's keeping me at the end of that rope is  1) My forgetfulness and laziness, which keeps me from climbing up. An 2) Dr Preston and my classmates who keep my firmly grasping to the rope and not letting me plummet down into failure.
All in all I feel i can still catch up,
(Yay, not i need to go back and try to fix that last post)

PARLOR POETRY

(Hopefully my Keyboard stayed working long enough for me to type this all out)

In the seine were montage reads out a poem to the women I would like to replace it with A poem i wrote wile I was still in grade school for my english class. Its not very good but here you go

(Actually there are two :3)

Understanding
What are feelings, what are emotions?
They come when you're born.
You cry,You laugh, get mad, remorse,
Understanding, courage, bravery.
What are they?
You can control them when you laugh
But not when you get mad or cry.
You hold back laughter but not pain.
If you understand what I've said
What is the difference or what is the same?

Nothing Or Twisted Mirrors
Nothing near withough a miror
Can show the pain and tears.
Withough the mirror northing near
can show the toll of fears.

It has nothing, it knows nothing
but to show the pain and tears
Its scared of noothing, its proud of nothing
Yet, It is nothing withough fear.

The though of it can put pain and tear
In the hand of those who use it.
The loss of it can end the fears
Of those who can forget it.

And that's it, Hope you enjoyed.
(Yay keyboard didn't break again, Now its time f)

The Peeved Pedestrian

After reading a few of my fellow classmates post on why Bradbury might have written this novel I've came to my own conclusion, from how I see it Bradbury Didn't write this novel to tell the future or show us how important book are (not saying they aren't). He wrote this to convey a message, A message meant to open the eyes of the reader and to help them understand freedom.

Some of us are nothing but sheep. The pack does something, they follow. The pack falls off a cliff, we all fall off a cliff.

Important things can be taken right from under our noses and only a select few will notice because we are so caught up in being told what to do and not letting ourselves expand into a new horizon

I may be just spouting nonsense because of the time and I'm dead tired an unable to sleep but, from my understanding what I've said is not entirety false.

Think about the things that were foretold would happen in his book: Earbudds, FlatPannel TVs, Hospitals and more. I mean common man!

The story says "Books are against the law" Who tried to stop it? apparently no one. Think about the government today, they have tried many times to take away the simple things we have rights to. Like internet privacy, The right to bear arms, Physical privacy, and on and on.
Now its like we're taxed to live.

"Oh! You're living? Breathing? Thinking? Here let me take this, I don't think you'll need it." as he/she proceeds to take your body and soul, Mind and muscle.

SPRING POST 1: MUSIC AS LITERATURE

Can we consider music to be literature? How do we define literature?
I would Say it is, Music is just its own form of literature. Its taking written lit and adding Rhythm, This give a more deep meaning to the spoken word.

How do we define literature?
Literature is our way of communication. Communicating can come in many shapes and sizes, it can be a poem, a story, a song and so on.

What is the difference between a novel, a poem, a rap, a song, an opera, and a symphony?
Like I said before, Everything here can be written to be the same thing, but create its own mood or feeling towards the subject.
